SUMMARY
Two month's strike at the "Laboratoires Besins" in Montrouge (Paris area.)
The Besins Laboratories exist for 150 years and they are one of the
few pharmaceutical laboratories family owned still in existence.
Nowadays, the Laboratoires Besins employ three hundred people in
France and in Belgium. There are two plants, one in France and one in
Belgium, and the holding, which has recently been moved from France to
Belgium.
The French subsidiary enjoys a flourishing financial situation, with a
turnover of 101 millions euros and a 23 millions euros stock dividend
given to the only shareholder for the 2004 fiscal year. This stock
dividend represents more than twice the salaries cost.
But in september 2005, the management announced an "Employment Safeguard
Plan" providing 28 jobs axed, that is to say 50% of the production
workforce.
This plan results of the management's will to off-shore a large part of
the production to Belgium. This industrial reorganisation masks the
essential point, which is merely tax evasion.
We are in strike for the november 30th 2005 to oppose the shareholder's
diktat, who wants always more stock dividends.

NO TO THE SACRIFICE ON THE STOCK DIVIDENDS ALTAR !
The CNT federation of social, health and local government workers
supports the employees of the Laboratoires Besins in Montrouge (92),
France, who are victims of a dividends take over representing twice
the salaries cost and leads to the dismissal of 28 workers.
To counter these manipulations, the workers of the Besins France plant
are in strike for the november 30th of 2005.
More than ever we denounce these practices of enrichment at workers
expense, and remind that all wealth is produced by the workers
efforts.
We demand the immediate ending of the redundancy plan and the restore
of the workers rights.
he CNT renew her support to the workers of the Laboratoires Besins in
strike and will mobilize to give them concrete solidarity.
